On March 22, Toluwalase Asolo, a 20-year-old business management student at the University of Hull, tweeted a clip with the caption, “The boredom jumped out.” To the song of “Don’t Rush” by U.K. rap duo Young T and Bugsey, she and her seven girlfriends changed looks seamlessly while passing around a makeup brush used as a metaphorical baton. This one minute and 26-second video would go on to amass 2 million views and become the popular #DontRushChallenge.

“We understand that in a period like this with nothing to do, a lot of people may slip into depression due to high levels of inactivity and idleness. So we decided to highlight the togetherness in isolation.” The ladies, planned the video sequence via WhatsApp. They are in their respective dorm rooms while self-distancing during the global coronavirus pandemic.

Their intention with the #DontRushChallenge, according to Asolo, was to empower and encourage women to embrace their beauty with and without makeup.

Of course, me and my pole ladies jumped at the chance of doing something "together" not only to have some fun during this difficult time but also to reinforce what we are all about... togetherness, empowerment and love.

UK Male Pole Dance Champion, Dan Rosen, returned to Pole Position Fitness again this May for some more wonderful workshops.

The wonderful Dan Habershon-Butcher returned to Pole Position Fitness for his second Pole Photoshoot and boy, did he deliver.

The girls all put in a sterling effort both in preparation and on the day, and they all have some cracking photos as a result.

On 7th April Dan will be running three workshops including Stripper School, an Intermediate / Advanced Pole Workshop, and Flexibility for Pole.

This week was the week to get into the spirit, throw on something festive and hit pole class.

Following a hearty 12 Days of Christmas warmup with plenty of sweat (thanks Jo!), our girls played the After Eight Chocolate Game, and created their most Christmassy combos in some excellent group pole shots...
